Pastor Paul Adefarasin Debunks Firearm Allegation, Labels Viral Video “Clickbait for Profit”

The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has broken his silence over a widely circulated video that falsely accused him of brandishing a firearm, describing the footage as maliciously misleading and driven by clickbait motives.

Addressing the controversy during his Sunday sermon, which was streamed live on the church’s official YouTube channel and monitored by Vanguard, Adefarasin expressed shock and emotional distress over the accusations.

“Several persons called me. I was shocked. I was hurt. I’m human,” he said. “What we have had to witness was clickbaiters just looking for money. I probably wasn’t even their target; their target was to make more money.”

“I Do Not Carry a Firearm” – Adefarasin

Firmly denying the allegations, Adefarasin stated, “I was falsely accused of pointing a firearm at an aggressive content creator who came within personal distance. I do not have a pistol license. I do not carry a firearm. And I pointed no firearm at anybody.”

He clarified that the incident in question occurred on a Saturday — a day he observes as the Sabbath.

“It happened on Saturday when I observed Sabbath. I believe in the principle of Sabbath,” he said.

“We Won’t Dignify Hate Speech”

The senior pastor reiterated his ministry’s stance against engaging with misinformation and online hostility.

“It’s our policy not to dignify hate speech and false accusations. We believe God is bigger than that,” he stated.

Quoting from Romans 12:19, he added, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Adefarasin noted the emotional toll the incident had taken, but emphasized his faith in God’s ability to bring purpose out of pain.

“God is touched with the feelings of our infirmities, and He’s able to first give us succour. And what the enemy means for evil, He works it for good.”

He concluded his remarks firmly: “On that note, I will lay that matter to rest.”
