Eid-el-Kabir: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festival. The announcement was made by Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in an official statement released on Monday.

Tunji-Ojo extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and the diaspora, urging the Ummah to uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). The minister encouraged Nigerians to use the Eid period as an opportunity to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting that ongoing reforms and initiatives aim to place Nigeria back on the path of progress.

“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the minister urged all Nigerians to join hands with the present administration in its efforts to restore the glory of Nigeria as a great nation,” the statement read.

Glide News wishes all readers a peaceful and joyous Eid-ul-Adha.
