O n Wednesday, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State revealed that miscreants have stolen documents related to alleged corruption charges against his predecessor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, his family, and aides. The governor's remarks came during an assessment visit to the Kano State High Court, which had been vandalized by thugs during recent nationwide anti-hunger protests.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, Governor Yusuf expressed dismay over the incident, stating, “It is unfortunate that enemies of Kano State hired undesirable elements to vandalize one of the historic public buildings with the intent of obstructing corruption charges against Ganduje and his associates.”

This sum includes the theft of office equipment, destruction of essential facilities, and other materials critical for justice delivery.
The governor called on the youth of Kano State to refrain from being manipulated into violence and instead focus on skills acquisition to secure a better future. He assured that the state government would continue to prioritize the safety and protection of its citizens.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of safeguarding the judiciary as the last bastion of justice and announced immediate plans for the rehabilitation of the damaged building and the enhancement of security measures to ensure effective justice delivery.
He extended his condolences to the Chief Judge of Kano State, Dije Aboki, and the entire judiciary, urging them to work towards recovering the lost ground in court proceedings.
