Wastage: Tinubu's SSA Seen with Very Large Convoy Claims It's Not Funded by Government Money

A bdulhamid Yahaya-Abba, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement for the North-East, has refuted allegations that taxpayers' money was used to fund his large convoy of vehicles. The accusations surfaced after an X (formerly Twitter) user, 'Anambra 1st Son,' claimed that the convoy was financed by public funds during Yahaya-Abba's recent trip to his hometown in Bauchi State.

In a statement issued to DAILY NIGERIAN, Yahaya-Abba clarified that the convoy was composed of friends, associates, and support groups who gathered to celebrate his appointment. He emphasized that the expenses for the convoy were not covered by taxpayers’ money but were instead funded by personal supporters and well-wishers.

Yahaya-Abba condemned the false claims as attempts to create confusion and undermine public trust in government officials. He noted that his work in a region affected by Boko Haram necessitates security measures, which include private and state security personnel, but assured that the convoy's funding was entirely from personal sources.
