S enator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South at the National Assembly, has formally rejected a new office allocation by the Senate Services Committee, citing issues of seniority and rank.
In a letter dated Tuesday, July 30, addressed to the Chairman of the Senate Services Committee, Ndume expressed his dissatisfaction with the office assigned to him, arguing that it fails to reflect his seniority and high status within the Senate.
The letter, signed by Ndume’s Chief Confidential Secretary, Yati Shuaibu Gawu, states: “I am directed to inform you that, Distinguished Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, has rejected the allocation of office number 3.10 by the Committee. This is because offices are traditionally allocated on a seniority basis. Senator Ndume is the most senior senator after Senator Ahmad Lawan and will only occupy an office on the fourth floor.”
This move follows Ndume's recent removal from his role as Chief Whip of the Senate. His removal was attributed to his vocal criticism of the President Bola Tinubu-led government, marking a significant development in his ongoing political disputes.
