O ver 500 Ecobank Nigeria customers have won a combined total of N42 million through the bank's Super Reward 'Millionaire Geng Promo,' designed to promote a culture of saving.
The grand finale, held at Ecobank's headquarters in Lagos on Friday, marked the conclusion of the promo, which ran from July 1 to December 31, 2024. Throughout this period, customers participated in monthly, quarterly, and grand prize draws, earning various cash rewards.
A detailed breakdown of the rewards reveals that 520 customers won N50,000 each during the monthly draws, 16 customers received N500,000 each in the quarterly draws, and four lucky winners took home N2 million each in the grand prize draws.
The promo was conducted across four regions in Nigeria: FCT & North, Lagos, Midwest/South-West, and South-South/South-East. The draws were transparent and monitored by lottery regulatory authorities to ensure fairness.
At the grand finale, Adeola Ogunyemi, Head of Consumer Banking, expressed satisfaction with the enthusiastic customer participation. She highlighted that the promo was part of Ecobank's broader strategy to reward loyalty and foster financial inclusion, particularly among Nigerians in rural and semi-urban areas.
“In the last six months, we’ve observed tremendous engagement from our customers. The importance of saving has become more apparent to many. It’s not just about income but about disciplined saving habits,” Ogunyemi noted.
Victor Yalokwu, Head of Consumer Segments & Products, elaborated on the bank's objectives, stating, “Our goal was to engage the mid-to-low income segments, promoting inclusivity. While we have programs for mid-to-high income and high-net-worth individuals, this promo was specifically designed to reach the mass market.”
