I n a recent interview with Scott Mills on BBC Sounds, Janet Jackson unveiled an unexpected twist to her family heritage, confirming that legendary singer Stevie Wonder is her cousin. Jackson revealed, “He’s our cousin on my mother’s side,” leaving Mills visibly astonished.
The surprises didn’t end there. Jackson also disclosed that renowned singer Tracy Chapman and acclaimed actor Samuel L. Jackson are part of her extended family. She humorously clarified that, despite their shared surname, Samuel L. Jackson is not one of her brothers.
Janet Jackson, who is currently on a tour celebrating her illustrious career, isn't the only Jackson family member making headlines. Tracy Chapman, known for her reclusive nature, is experiencing a resurgence in her career. This revival is partly due to Luke Combs’ cover of her 1988 hit “Fast Car,” which topped the Country Airplay chart last year. This achievement made Chapman the first Black woman to reach the top spot since the chart's inception in 1990. Chapman and Combs also received a standing ovation for their performance at the Grammys in February.
