Chelsea to Reward Cole Palmer for Stellar Performance, Confident of Long-Term Stay

Chelsea FC is set to reward Cole Palmer for his outstanding form and is confident that the England international will remain at the club for the next decade.

Palmer had an exceptional first season at Chelsea, scoring 25 goals, and continued his impressive performance for England at the European Championship, where he scored in the final and provided an assist in the semi-final.

The 22-year-old signed a seven-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, worth around £80,000 per week, when he joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer. This initial salary placed Palmer at the lower end of the England wage scale, earning significantly less than some of his high-profile teammates.

In recognition of Palmer's contributions, Chelsea plans to offer him incremental wage increases to better reflect his importance and performance. These adjustments are expected to remain private rather than being announced publicly, ensuring that Palmer's current contract is amended to reward him appropriately.

A source within Chelsea revealed, "Chelsea expects Cole to be at the club for the next 10 years. So of course, they will look after him and make sure his wages reflect his performances. There is no need to do that publicly or with grand announcements. The club will work with Cole and his representatives, rather than doing their business in public."

Under the guidance of new head coach Enzo Maresca, Chelsea is optimistic that Palmer can maintain and even improve his form from last season.

Meanwhile, Palmer will not join the group of players flying to America for Chelsea’s pre-season tour, as he is not due to report back until next month. Similarly, Conor Gallagher has time off following international duty with England, and his future at Chelsea remains unresolved.

Atletico Madrid has shown interest in Gallagher, holding talks in recent days, but they have not yet made a bid. There is skepticism about whether Atletico can meet Chelsea’s £50 million valuation. Tottenham Hotspur remains interested in Gallagher but has not made a move this summer. Aston Villa has shifted its focus to another target, Amadou Onana, after accepting that Gallagher is unlikely to join them.

Chelsea is also looking to sign a striker and a right-footed winger but is willing to see how the market reacts to other moves being made by clubs.
