Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho is currently at the center of transfer speculations, as a prominent yet unnamed Saudi Arabian club has expressed strong interest in securing his services. The club’s president has declared their intent to go all out to sign the 27-year-old former Leicester City forward, Glide News reports.
Iheanacho, who spent seven years with Leicester City, made over 100 appearances for the club and won several titles including the FA Cup, Community Shield, and EFL Championship. During the last season, he scored six goals in 26 matches across all competitions, contributing significantly to Leicester’s EFL Championship triumph and their promotion back to the Premier League.
However, on June 7, 2024, Leicester City announced that Iheanacho would be departing the club at the end of the season.
The Nigerian forward’s potential move to Saudi Arabia would see him join a growing list of international stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema, who have recently moved to the Saudi Pro League.
With his departure from Leicester confirmed, Iheanacho is reportedly close to finalizing a deal with the ambitious Saudi side. This move would bring his experience and goal-scoring prowess to a new stage, contributing to the rising profile of football in Saudi Arabia.
If completed, the transfer would mark a new chapter in Iheanacho’s career, providing him with an opportunity to showcase his talents while significantly enhancing the competitive edge of the Saudi Pro League.
