N igerian singer Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has won the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Grammy Awards with her hit song Love Me JeJe. This victory marks Tems' second Grammy win, solidifying her status as one of Africa's leading musical talents.
Tems triumphed over strong contenders, including Yemi Alade's Tomorrow, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Sensational by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Burna Boy's Higher.
This award adds to her impressive Grammy history, as she received three nominations this year, bringing her career total to eight. Besides her win, Tems was nominated for Best Global Music Album with Born in the Wild and Best R&B Song for Burning.
The 67th Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.
South African artist Tyla previously won the inaugural Best African Music Performance award in 2024 with her hit song Water.
