Palestinian Leaders Reject U.S. Proposal to Relocate Gaza Residents

S enior Palestinian leaders have strongly rejected recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, criticizing his proposal that suggested Egypt and Jordan accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza. The proposal, which Trump framed as part of efforts to "rehabilitate the Strip," has been met with sharp condemnation from officials in Gaza.

Izzat al-Risheq, a senior figure in the political bureau of Hamas, issued a statement on Tuesday, denouncing the U.S. President's comments. “We firmly oppose President Trump’s statements that call on the Palestinian people in Gaza to abandon their homeland,” al-Risheq declared on his Telegram account. “The Palestinian people will not accept any plan aimed at uprooting them from their land.”

Hamas leaders argue that such proposals are not only dismissive of Palestinian rights but also risk escalating tensions across the region. One senior official described the remarks as “a recipe for chaos and instability,” warning that attempts to sideline the Palestinian issue could undermine broader peace efforts.

This latest development comes amid ongoing humanitarian challenges in Gaza, where discussions about reconstruction and relief have been complicated by regional and international politics.
