Netanyahu Vows to “Finish the Job” Against Iran with Trump’s Support

I srael’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged on Sunday to “finish the job” against Iran, with the backing of US President Donald Trump, in a display of solidarity during a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Netanyahu emphasized that over the past 16 months, Israel has dealt significant blows to Iran’s terror axis, citing strong leadership from Trump. “I have no doubt that we can and will finish the job,” Netanyahu said.

Rubio echoed these sentiments, stating, “There could never be a nuclear Iran,” and reinforcing that groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and various militias in the region all trace their actions back to Iran.

Meanwhile, US intelligence agencies have warned both the Biden and Trump administrations that Israel is likely to attempt strikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities this year, despite the potential risks of escalating regional conflicts. The reports suggest that Israel is still pursuing a regime change in Iran.

The conversation between Netanyahu and Rubio also touched on the situation in Gaza, with Netanyahu aligning with Trump’s controversial proposal to take control of Gaza, displacing Palestinians. Netanyahu had prior knowledge of the plan before Trump made it public.

Coinciding with the visit, the US sent a shipment of MK-84 bombs to Israel, with the shipment lifting a hold from the Biden administration. The munitions were described as a significant asset to Israel’s Air Force and IDF. The shipment drew criticism from Palestinian officials, who called out the US for sending bombs instead of humanitarian aid.

Rubio’s trip to Tel Aviv follows the recent release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners as part of a ceasefire agreement, though tensions remain high with Israel's military actions continuing in Gaza.
