I sraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday at the White House to discuss "victory over Hamas," Iran, and expanding diplomatic relations with Arab countries. This will be Trump's first meeting with a foreign leader since returning to office.
In a statement issued before departing for Washington, Netanyahu highlighted the agenda, which includes discussions on "achieving the release of all our hostages, and dealing with the Iranian terror axis in all its components." He emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, "By working together, we can strengthen security, broaden the circle of peace, and achieve a remarkable era of peace through strength."
The meeting comes amid ongoing U.S. and Arab-mediated negotiations aimed at de-escalating the conflict in the Gaza Strip and securing the release of dozens of hostages held by militants. Hamas, which has regained control over Gaza following last month's ceasefire, has declared that it will not release hostages scheduled for the second phase without a complete end to the war and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces.
Diplomatic efforts continue as both leaders aim to address regional security challenges and promote stability in the Middle East.
