ICE DEPORTS MEXICAN GANG MEMBER WHO ILLEGALLY ENTERED U.S. 10 TIMES

U nited States. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Humberto Romero Avila, a 45-year-old member of the Paisas gang, who was wanted for a 2007 homicide in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Avila had illegally entered the United States ten times since 2002, accumulating convictions for larceny, four instances of driving while intoxicated, and multiple other offenses. His most recent deportation occurred on February 13, marking the latest crackdown on undocumented criminals with violent histories.

Authorities described Avila as a high-risk offender with a long record of repeated offenses, highlighting concerns over border security and the ability of deported individuals to reenter the U.S. undetected. ICE officials emphasized that his removal was a critical step in enhancing public safety.

ICE Director Bret Bradford stated that Avila was “one of the most egregious offenders” encountered in decades, underscoring the agency’s commitment to targeting fugitives involved in serious crimes.

This latest deportation comes amid intensified enforcement efforts, with a sharp increase in removals over the past year. Officials have reiterated their focus on apprehending undocumented immigrants with criminal backgrounds, ensuring they are held accountable and returned to their home countries.
