R eality TV star Adedayo Martin, popularly known as DeeOne, has made a shocking revelation regarding his recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, hosted by media personality Nedu. DeeOne disclosed that his participation in the show was a strategic move aimed at exposing social media critic VeryDarkMan.
Controversy Erupts Over Podcast Claims
The controversy began when DeeOne, during the podcast interview, alleged that VeryDarkMan was involved in same-sex relationships. The claim quickly ignited a firestorm, prompting VeryDarkMan to fire back via an Instagram video, in which he accused Nedu of exploiting up-and-coming entertainers in exchange for media exposure. He further threatened to release names of individuals whom Nedu allegedly claimed to have had intimate relationships with in the industry.
The escalating drama eventually led to Nedu’s resignation from the show, intensifying speculation and debate across social media platforms.
DeeOne's Confession: A Mastermind Behind the Scenes
In a recent interview on TVC’s Breakfast Show, DeeOne admitted to orchestrating the entire scenario, revealing that Nedu was unaware of his intentions.
“To be honest, I was the one who set a trap for VeryDarkMan using Nedu. I planned everything on my own, but Nedu had no idea. If I had said it on social media, people would have accused me of chasing clout, so I needed a credible platform,” DeeOne explained.
He added that he had been observing VeryDarkMan for months to assess his credibility, claiming that while the social media figure sometimes raised valid points, he often misled his audience by jumping to conclusions.
“Even Nedu is in shock because he wouldn’t have agreed if I had told him my plan. Unfortunately, I never expected him to lose his job, and I truly feel bad about it. But in the end, I used Nedu as bait to catch the fish (VeryDarkMan), and my plan worked perfectly,” he admitted.
Mixed Reactions from the Public
The confession has further fueled the controversy, with fans and industry insiders expressing mixed reactions. While some have praised DeeOne’s strategic approach, others have condemned his actions, particularly in light of Nedu’s resignation.
As the debate rages on, the fallout from this high-profile media clash continues to unfold, leaving many questioning the ethics of publicity stunts in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
