S olicitors representing gospel singer Mercy Chinwo have issued a statement addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding her relationship with her former manager, Mr. Ezekiel ThankGod (Eezeetee).
The statement clarified that Mercy Chinwo did not take legal action against Eezeetee over her music catalog and has never expressed that the 50/50 revenue split from her digital streaming platform (DSP) earnings was unfair.
The statement reveals that the issues began when Eezeetee made demands for Mercy Chinwo to extend her five-year contract to twelve years. When she declined the request, tensions reportedly escalated, with Eezeetee allegedly becoming hostile, referencing the contract, and using threatening language.
Additionally, the statement claims that Eezeetee forged a new contract in 2019, altering the date to make it appear as though it was the original agreement from 2017.
Despite efforts to resolve the situation amicably, Eezeetee allegedly pursued legal action, filing lawsuits against Mercy Chinwo and another artist, Judikay.
